We’re bringing the stars and creators of Cleverman to our inaugural festival of all things video, to sit down and chat about how they wrote and developed one of Australia’s most exciting new productions. This includes series creator Ryan Griffen, writer/producer Jane Allen, production designer Jake Nash, writer/actor Jada Alberts (who plays Narida), and the Cleverman himself Hunter Page-Lochard.
Cleverman, for the uninitiated, is like nothing else you’ve seen — it’s been described as “an X-Men-like fantasy world grounded in Australian Indigenous peoples’ history and mythology” and a “wickedly exciting Indigenous superhero story“. It’s made a big splash internationally too, airing in the US via Sundance TV and scoring huge praise at some of the world’s biggest film festivals.
