Listen, the festive season is hard on everyone.

Christmas is just such a mess — an expensive, draining melange of family commitments and dreary parties that you’ve gotta stand in the corner of, staring into the surface of your congealed eggnog.

And then there are the Christmas songs.

Each and every festive pop hit is custom-designed to make you feel worse if you’re feeling bad. They’re chirpy, they’re over-the-top, and they’re a surefire way to make a dark mood darker.

Enter YouTube remix genius William Maranci from stage-right.

Maranci is well-known for his habit of stuffing disparate songs together in a joyous goop. But he’s outdone himself with his newest offering, a depressing festive banger that takes the backing tracks from Mariah Carey’s ‘All I Want For Christmas Is You‘ and jams it up against the vocal lines from Radiohead’s classic ‘Creep’.

The result? A festive banger that’ll have you tapping your toes and feeling like life is ultimately worthless all at the same time.

It’s like one of the top comments on the video says: Depression has never been more festive. Certainly, ‘All I Want For Christmas’ never knew what was coming for it.
