Childish Gambino’s ‘Lost In You’ Cover Will Tear Your Heart Out But Heal Your Soul

Last week, Childish Gambino officially wrapped up his Australian tour — potentially his last one ever. He left us with cherished memories, including a Splendour headlining set that will go down in history as one of the biggest (and sweatiest) in the festival’s history.

Of course, he couldn’t leave our shores for good without giving us a present. While he was in town, he stopped in at the triple j studios to record a special Like A Version, choosing to cover Chris Gaines’ classic pop hit ‘Lost In You’.

If the name Chris Gaines feels unfamiliar, you might remember it as American country star Garth Brooks’ Australian alter ego that he performed as for a brief period in the late ’90s. Gambino takes Gaines’ ’90s cheese and transforms it into a syrupy soul cover — watch it below.
