All The Best (And Weirdest) Celebrity Halloween Costumes Of 2017
LeBron James will haunt your dreams.
Halloween is one of the most blessed times for the social media feed, with dozens of great posts about all your friends’ meticulously crafted Halloween parties and sickly party punch drinks. But do you know who’s better at Halloween than your mates? Celebrities.
Celebrities are really good at Halloween. Like, their costumes are flat-out impressive. In honour of this, we’ve rounded up some of the best, weirdest, most gross or most topical celebrity costumes this year.
Clearly referencing the past year in pop culture is a sure-fire way to produce a recognisable, funny Halloween costume. LeBron James knows this better than anyone, apparently, since he dressed up as terrifying cannibal clown Pennywise from this year’s It remake. Good lord, it’s… impressive costume work.
But Pennywise is not nearly as terrifying as Ryan Seacrest, with Kelly Rippa, dressed as a Handmaid, I promise you. Observe:
Couples costumes are always a popular option. So, what if you wanted to dress up as Khaleesi and her late (questionable) Dothraki husband from Game Of Thrones? Well, you’d be Khloe Kardashian and her baby daddy Tristan Thompson.
But my favourite Topical Pop Culture Moment comes from Kristen Bell, whose daughter made Bell dress up as Elsa with her for Halloween… even though Bell voices Elsa’s sister Anna in the film Frozen. Here’s Bell grinning and “forking” bearing it!
There were also some less topical, but still hilarious, pop culture references running this Halloween. Bruce Willis channelled some true child horror with his Shining twins outfit.
And nothing but respect for My Queen Cardi B channelling true evil with an ace Cruella De Vil costume (although she may have pissed off a few people on her Instagram for wearing what appears to be a real fur coat).
But I think Gwyneth Paltrow might have one the best Pop Culture Gag award for her Se7en spoiler costume.
And, like, who knows why Dolly Parton is dressed as Verucca Salt, but I love it. Hoo boy, I love it so dearly.

While Busy Phillips, ie the Ruler Of The Instagram Story, donned some very impressive and well-constructed Hedwig garb (from the cult film and musical Hedwig And The Angry Inch). Look at that hair!
But maybe my favourite is this very well-done Fight Club combo by Zoe Kravitz and a friend. Who knew Kravitz would make such a great Helena Bonham Carter?
