For Absolutely No Reason, Let’s Re-Watch That Elevator Fight Scene From ‘Captain America’
One of the best fight scenes in the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
No spoilers, but Avengers: Endgame sure has me feeling SUPER NOSTALGIC ABOUT THE PAST. That’s logical! It’s definitely been designed as the huge, epic, culmination of the last eleven years of Marvel Cinematic Universe films.
But something about watching Endgame made me suddenly and specifically remember my favourite ever fight scene, from Captain America: The Winter Soldier — that gorgeously choreographed elevator battle.
In the scene, Cap is ambushed by a bunch of HYDRA agents who have infiltrated S.H.I.E.L.D, including Australia’s very own Drazic from Heartbreak High. Hot.
It’s such a good scene, and one that doesn’t rely on big flashing lasers or fancy special effects or big CGI green men. It’s just some handsome men fighting each other in a metal box that goes up and down!
One of the reasons I love it is that it exemplifies what makes Cap so special — he’s just a BETTER version of a regular human, not necessarily godly like Thor, or unnatural like The Hulk. He has a big heart and a perfect butt.
Let’s watch it now!
What a fun thing to remember!
In the lead up to Infinity War, Chris Evans released a bunch of previously unseen footage of the fight preparation for this scene. It’s a pretty amazing insight into the level of athleticism and choreography that goes into these kinds of scenes.

It’s also, somehow, extremely hot. Shut up!

Anyway, yeah. Fun to remember things.
