“Can I Hit It With A Hammer?” Is The Strangest, Most Satisfying TikTok Account Yet

There's something oddly calming about watching a 6-foot-5 man awkwardly destroy things with a tiny hammer.

I’m sure you’ve wondered “what surfaces and appliances can I safely hit with a hammer without it breaking” at least once, twice, or seven times in your life before.

Luckily, Justin Schiele and his strangely wonderful TikTok account are here to help answer the age-old question: Can I hit it with a hammer?

As his TikTok bio explains, Schiele is a 6’5″ 25-year-old who is “just a guy doing dumb stuff ’til I have to stop” — and dumb stuff does Justin do. But sometimes watching an incredibly awkward, six-foot giant smash stuff with a tiny hammer is exactly what you need, which is why watching Justin figure out what can and cannot be destroyed is the internet’s latest obsession.

Giving you exactly what is described on the tin, Justin Schiele takes his hammer to every day objects like doors, dishwashers, sinks, and shower sliders, to find out whether these things can survive two hard taps from a hammer.

After letting both the “hammer part side” and the “claw side” have a go at breaking through objects, Justin Schiele then awkwardly advises the viewers at home whether we “probably shouldn’t do that” or if “that’s ok” to do based on the outcome. Riveting stuff, honestly.

While it’s all just so incredibly stupid and sort feels like a show plucked right from Rick and Morty’s inter-dimensional cable channel, some of Justin’s hits are actually pretty surprising.

Take the shower door, for example, which somehow doesn’t break at all. Even when Justin uses the claw side, the glass defies all logic by not shattering, and stuns not only Justin himself, but for some reason Dr Phil, too.

Thanks to Justin’s ability to portray the natural awkward energy of every high school presentation ever, Justin Schiele has already managed to gain half a million followers on TikTok in the few short weeks he’s been doing his Can I Hit It With A Hammer? series.

And for those concerned about Justin absolutely destroying his home for the sake of a couple of TikToks, fear not. Early this morning Justin Schiele put all the concerns to rest in a TikTok explaining that he’s actually a construction worker, who is currently working in a hotel and is in the middle of the demolition stage.

So here’s hoping that means more episodes of the world’s most awkward home-renovation show ever.
