Australia’s New Bus Driver Meme Is Pure And Good, Long Live This Meme
In this house, we love and respect bus drivers.
Sometimes it can be hard to find a glimmer of hope in the roiling ocean of sewage that is day-to-day life, but the good people at Brown Cardigan have provided the extremely pleasant antidote to all that existential dread: memes about saying thanks to the bus driver.
It’s a simple concept — people say thanks to the bus driver for all their hard work, and this is a small gesture of politeness that just… makes everything better. It’s a very gentle meme, one that’s centred not on “edginess” or “dankness” or “skateboards”, but on just being a good citizen.
It’s a very patriotic, proud meme, centred on good Aussie values of giving thanks to the bus person for driving us places.
Here’s some bus driver memes.
It is a good meme. Bus drivers are great! One might even say they are unsung heroes, salt and pepper of the earth, true Aussie legends, terrifying half-bus-half-human hybrids who might tear the world apart in their endless robot wars, but don’t. You could say all of that.
People were quick to jump on to the meme, and add their own contributions.
I like that every one in Sydney and Melbourne is sharing this and being all ‘omg I said thanks once to a driver 3 years ago!’ but everyone from Brisbane is just wondering ‘oi seriously who doesn’t say thank you to the bus driver?’ pic.twitter.com/q5auvwCydi

And people, in the spirit of thankfulness, have also been thanking Brown Cardigan for delivering this pure and wholesome meme to the public. Thanks, Brown Cardigan.
Thanks to @browncardigan69 – I’ve never seen bus drivers thanked for their kind work as much as I have today.

Congrats you win the award for saying you did something before the meme. Have a medal of honour. ? https://t.co/N67kOWBqON

I started the bus driver meme and I can finish it too. But I won't. Out of respect for this nation's bus drivers
