Bruce Willis Now Has His Own Special Category At The Razzies For Being In So Many Bad Movies
He was nominated 8 times in his own category ?
Every year the Razzies nominate and celebrate the worst in cinema and this year Bruce Willis is a category all his own.
The annual Razzie Awards perform the gargantuan cultural task of rewarding the worst in film. Where the Oscars award Best Film, Best Actor, etc, the Razzies ensure the most excruciating films and performances don’t go unacknowledged.
The Oscar nominations are set to be announced tomorrow, but today the Razzies announced that one man has surpassed all the Worst expectations of cinema. The main contenders across all categories are Netflix’s Woman in the Window, Netflix’s Diana: The Musical, The Space Jam sequel, the Dear Evan Hansen film adaptation, and the infamous Cruella De Ville remake turned cringe-thriller Karen.
Amy Adams managed two separate acting nominations: Worst Supporting for Dear Evan Hansen and Worst Performance for The Woman in the Window. For his role in House of Gucci, Jared Leto also earned two nominations — one for Worst Supporting Actor and the other for the Worst on-screen couple for, and I quote, “Jared Leto & EITHER His 17-Pound Latex Face, His Geeky Clothes or His Ridiculous Accent.”
But only one actor is guaranteed an award at this years’ Razzies because he has a category made especially for him. Bruce Willis is nominated eight times for eight different films in the “WORST PERFORMANCE by BRUCE WILLIS in a 2021 MOVIE” category.
The eight films Willis is nominated for are American Siege, Apex, Cosmic Sin, Deadlock, Fortress, Midnight in the Switchgrass, Out of Death, and Survive the Game. The pandemic has killed many elements of pop culture, but Bruce Willis’ will to star in every film he is offered has survived and thrived.
Which film will take home the Worst Performance by Bruce Willis? The world will have to wait with bated breath until March 26th aka Oscars Eve to know.
