Brooklyn Nine-Nine is one of the most inventive and enjoyable sitcoms currently on television.

A character-based dramedy that eschews easy punchlines for long and carefully-constructed emotional journeys, the show is just so goshdarn sincere: so totally overwhelming with heart. You don’t laugh at Jake Peralta because he’s an idiot (well, not entirely) — you laugh at him because you know him as well as you know a dear and considered friend.

Which is why it’s just extraordinary news that the show is coming back for a long-awaited seventh season, and why it’s even better news that said season is hitting SBS On Demand today, Friday February 7.

Yep, we’ve so often had to wait months for American TV to hit our screens, new shows delayed thanks to length rights disputes. But in the case of Brooklyn Nine-Nine, we’re getting it at the same time as the Americans, pretty much, which means there’s no need to hide from Twitter to avoid spoilers or all of the best jokes getting ruined for you.

New episodes of the show will drop weekly, from today onwards.

That’s a lot of Nine-Nine for you to enjoy. So hop to it.
