Watch Abbi And Illana Literally Die In The ‘Broad City’ Final Season Trailer

Following on from this morning’s sneaky lil’ teaser for next year’s final season of Game of Thrones, another hit TV show about to call it a day has also gifted us a sneak peek with the first teaser trailer for Broad City season 5 hitting the net.

We learnt earlier this year that the adventures of loveable NYC stoners Abbi and Illana would be wrapping up after next year’s season and it appears the fifth season send-off will be as insane as you’d expect.

It’s a short clip which mostly features flashes of quick sequences all seem to do with the unknown endgames of our often immoral heroines. As per Broad City’s zany style, none of them really make sense or fit together chronologically.

For example, one quick shot sees the duo plummeting to their deaths from the top of a gigantic skyscraper whilst another sees Glazer and Jacobson don full old people makeup as the besties continue to chill into their final years. Also, it looks like Abbi is getting married?

Oh yeah and they’re both literally dead in a coffin in one shot…

Whilst five seasons doesn’t sound like a lot in this day and age of peak TV, it makes sense that the pair is looking to put one of the legitimately funniest comedies of the decade to bed. Both Glazer and Jacobsen have had a couple of successful roles in feature films lately, such as Illana in the Scarlett Johansson comedy Rough Night. Abbi also seems to be moving towards a more serious, indie-film path if this year’s Netflix drama 6 Balloons is anything to go by.

Hit up the first teaser below and get ready to bid farewell to Broad City when it premieres in the new year on January 24. We’re yet to confirm if the new season will air as usual on Foxtel’s Comedy Channel or if perhaps it will go to Stan, much like old seasons have post-airing.
