It’s About Time We Address The Godawful Krumping Hayden Panettiere Does In ‘Bring It On’
Don't lie, you thought this dancing went so hard in 2006 too.
The year was 2006: The words “my wife” became part of everyone’s vernacular thanks to Borat, we were introduced to the wonder of Liz Lemon on 30 Rock and we all desperately wanted to learn the hip-hop moves in Bring It On: All Or Nothing.
In case you’ve forgotten, Bring It On: All Or Nothing starred Hayden Panettiere, Solange and Rihanna. Pretty iconic, I know.
Guys, if a video surfaces of me at 12 years old krumping to the Bring it On choreography. It's not me. I don't know that bitch.

The story followed privileged “white girl” Britney Allen (Hayden Panettiere) having to uproot her life after her rich daddy lost his job. Losing her spot as cheer captain at Pacific Vista High, Britney had to move over to Crenshaw Heights — a school and cheer team that her old friends deemed “ghetto”.
Leading the Crenshaw Heights Warriors cheer squad was Camille (Solange), who Britney struggled to get along with. As the movie progressed, Camille and Britney set aside their differences for the benefit of the team to go on and win Rihanna’s competition for new school computers. Honestly, 2006 was truly a different time.
While there wasn’t really anything wrong with the film itself, looking back, certain parts of All Or Nothing really were ridiculous. The characters and storyline were interesting enough, and for a lot of us it was the first time we were introduced to the iconic Shabooya Roll Call but God, we cannot let Hayden Panettiere’s godawful attempt at krumping slide.
Why did I use to think she killed this shit? ? pic.twitter.com/TZksUoSKcb

To refresh your memory, Britney ended up “krumping” after she broke up what she thought was a fight between the guys on the cheer squad. “Stop it guys, violence never solves anything,” she told the boys.
“Chill, we’re krumping,” her love interest Jesse (Gus Carr) replied. “It’s like street theatre, improv the anger in you.”
After channeling the anger from being a “rich white girl stuck in Crenshaw Heights”, Hayden Panettiere gave us whatever the hell was going on in that clip. While there’s no denying that her body is just so unbelievably stiff, worse are all the little half-moan-half-grunts she does with every move. It truly haunts my dreams.
And don’t think we’re going to let Jesse’s attempt slide either. I will say as an 11-year-old, those moves and the sexual chemistry between the pair had me feeling some type of way. However, looking back as an adult those chest pops are so bonkers… that it’s actually kinda great? I don’t know. I’m torn now.
Honestly.., I don’t think my 9 yr old self was ready when Jesse and Britney started krumping in Bring It On: All or Nothing. The sexual tension was too real

You can stream ‘Bring It On: All Or Nothing’ on Netflix, and decide for yourself whether the krumping was so bad it was good.
