Bo Burnham Skewers Insufferable Podcast Bros In Fresh New ‘Inside’ Content
"We are two comedians, no filter, not giving a fuck what anybody thinks, and not apologising for it."
It’s been a year since Bo Burnham’s pandemic masterpiece Inside made us all feel seen, understood, and depressed.
The comedian and filmmaker gave his all to the two-part special, where he flexed his musical chops to skewer the cultural landscape that we inhabited at the time — whether it was image-crafting on Instagram, our weird obsession with reaction videos, and the unrelenting contradictions and sense of dissonance that come with modern life.
But for those of you who have been quietly yearning for more Inside, your prayers have been answered: Bo Burnham announced on Twitter this very morning that in honour of Inside‘s first birthday, he would be releasing a bunch of Inside outtakes on YouTube.
“A year ago today, I released a special called Inside. I’ve spent the last two months editing together material for the special but didn’t end up using… I hope you enjoy it.” Obviously, we will enjoy it Bo Burnham! Thank you for letting us know! Sorry for shouting, we are just excited!

Yes, Bo Burnham made us some content, and it’s not just a bunch of bloopers thrown together without rhyme and reason, but a quite nicely curated feature that makes you realise how exhausting it actually must have been to film White Woman’s Instagram.
There’s also a great moment where Bo Burnham does a podcast with his co-host, Bo Burnham. “We are two comedians, no filter, not giving a fuck what anybody thinks”, to which he adds “and yeah, not apologising for it”. The two Bo Burnhams then lament how we’ve fallen so far from the comedy’s golden age, back when “Tony pancake was headlining The Comedy Store” and “Salami Williams” was absolutely crushing it on a Tuesday night. Those were the days.
The video also includes a piss-take of those insufferable Hollywood Reporter round table interviews, where Burnham introduces himself as ‘Associate Editorial Cultural Contributor’ for The Dump before asking his creative team (a gaggle of Bo Burnhams) the most hack celebrity interview question in history: what attracted you to this project?
Basically, it’s just really nice to see Bo Burnham again.
