Beyonce And Kendrick Lamar Walked On Water During Their Explosive BET Awards Performance
And you thought 'Game of Thrones' was going to bring the ice and fire.
Today at the BET Awards Beyonce and Kendrick Lamar raised the bar so impossibly high, that it kind of makes you feel sorry for everyone else that had to perform at the show after them. Twitter had been abuzz with rumours that the BET Awards would be Beyonce’s first awards show appearance of the year, and she didn’t make them wait for long.
The high-energy performance of ‘Freedom’, a stand-out track from her recent album Lemonade, also featured Kendrick Lamar. If watching Kendrick wild out in a pool of water while Beyonce wails: “I break chains all by myself” doesn’t give you goosebumps, well, maybe you’re dead?

Lemonade was widely praised for being a moving reflection on the struggle and inherent inequality in being a woman of colour. The video for ‘Formation’, which prompted many important and overdue conversations about blackness in pop music, has already won a BET award today for Video Of The Year.
However, because she is Beyonce and is far too important to deal with awards show nonsense, she left immediately after her performance and did not collect her award (her mum Tina was still there though, don’t worry).
