Netflix Has Made A ‘Between Two Ferns’ Movie, And It Looks Absolutely Batshit And Perfect
The beloved anti-comedy interview show is now a film?
Between Two Ferns is the only talk show worth watching, really.
If you’re not familiar, the show is a long-running Funny Or Die vehicle, in which Zach Galifianakis playing his most awkward and exasperated self, interviews a range of celebrities. The joke is that the interviews are bad. Almost every celebrity plays a very straight, vaguely humourless version of themselves.
It’s very funny.
The show is the brainchild of Comedy Bang Bang host, Scott Aukerman, and emblematic of his chaotic brand of humour. It’s featured a huge host of big named celebrities, including an iconic episode with Barack Obama.
Anyway, now those maniacs at Netflix have turned it into a film! The premise is typically odd:
“Zach Galifianakis dreamed of becoming a star. But when Will Ferrell discovered his public access TV show Between Two Ferns and uploaded it to Funny Or Die, Zach became a viral laughing stock. Now Zach and his crew are taking a road trip to complete a series of high-profile celebrity interviews and restore his reputation.”
I wouldn’t worry too much about that — it’s got a heap of celebrities involved, including: Matthew Mcconaughey, Will Ferrell, Peter Dinklage, Benedict Cumberbatch, Paul Rudd, Tiffany Haddish, Brie Larson, Keanu Reeves, Jon Hamm, David Letterman, Jason Schwartzman ,Adam Scott, John Cho, Chance the Rapper, Rashida Jones, Hailee Steinfeld, John Legend, Chrissy Teigen, and Tessa Thompson.
Watch the trailer — the line about A Star Is Born opening doors for “other hot idiots” broke me.
Between Two Ferns: The Movie drops on Netflix on September 20.
