Bette Midler Sings The Vacuous Tweets Of Kim Kardashian

Weirdly, it kind of works.

One of my favourite segments on ABC’s Spicks and Specks is ’Substitute’. Team members sing famous songs, substituting the lyrics from a mundane or theoretically complex book. Think ‘Shake It Off’ with lyrics taken from a book titled What About Me? The Struggle For Identity In A Market-Based Society.

The glorious Bette Midler (when I wrote that it accidentally came out as Better Midler, which I think is apt) and Jimmy Kimmel have done something similar to ‘Substitute’, except instead of concept heavy books they’ve gone in the opposite direction: the tweets of Kim Kardashian.

Brilliant, press play.
