Everyone Is Puzzled By This Incredibly Strange Military Music Video
Some are calling the clip "Eurovision with guns."
Earlier today, a music video shot and developed by the Azerbaijan Military began trending on Twitter, on account of it being very, very odd.
The video, which is scored to a patriotic, impossibly warm-blooded power rock number, features shots of APCs, choppers and military hardware. As some in the comments have already pointed out, it’s essentially a Eurovision number, albeit one featuring a great deal more automatic weapons than usual.

As it turns out, this is not the first time that the country’s military have dropped a musical propaganda video — only a matter of days ago, the state media media released a similarly bombastic military tune, this one more of a soulful number.

These propagandistic clips drop during a time of heightened tensions across Europe. A matter of hours ago, the Armenian government claimed responsibility for shooting down an Azerbaijan drone. The source of the conflict is Nagorno-Karabakh, a region that falls within the Azerbaijan border but is controlled by forces who are allied with the Armenians.
Although the dispute between the two countries has been waged for literal decades, an uptick in fighting over the last few months has been prompted by a series of missile launches. Hence, the jingoistic quality of the above music videos, designed to draw on reserves of nationalism during a tension-filled time.
