The giant mega-blockbuster crossover event that is Avengers: Infinity War was always slated to be popular at the box-office, and this is true. Story over.

However, it’s had an EXCEPTIONALLY good run, winning the honour of becoming the fastest movie to cross the $1 billion mark at the global box office. This means it has overtaken the previous record-holder, Star Wars: The Force Awakens.

It brought in $257.6 million alone on its opening weekend, attaining the highest-grossing opening of all time.

Cool, Marvel and Disney have ALL the money.

Infinity War was slated as the ‘most ambitious crossover event in cinematic history’ and has lived up to a lot of the hype. It’s also gotten a lot of extremely positive reviews.

It’s got a veritable constellation of stars in the film, including Robert Downey Jr’s Iron Man, Chris Hemsworth’s Thor, Chadwick Boseman’s Black Panther and more. It’s a melding of the majority of Marvel Cinematic Universe franchises, including the Guardians of the Galaxy. It’s clearly a recipe for success.

The film has already made more than the overall totals of its peers like Wonder Woman, Batman VS Superman: Dawn of Justice, Guardians of the Galaxy, X-Men: Days of Future Past and Justice League.

It hasn’t gone unnoticed that it’s kinda blowing DC out of the water.

Avengers: Infinity War is currently in cinemas, go throw your money at it.
