Strap in nerds: Melbourne’s historic Astor Theatre is hosting a butt-numbing, eyeball-bludgeoning 48-hour movie marathon featuring (almost) every film in the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

Kicking off at 11am on Saturday, January 5 and stretching all the way until 11am on Monday, January 7 (good excuse to take a day off work), the marathon will feature all the films in the MCU, with two exceptions. Unfortunately, they don’t have the rights to screen Spiderman: Homecoming or the Edward Norton Hulk movie, although to be honest I don’t think anyone will be too disappointed about that second one.

The Astor hosts movie marathons pretty frequently, but 48 hours is definitely a new record. Dressing up is very much encouraged, and it probably wouldn’t be a bad idea to bring a pillow and a sleeping bag either.
