An Aussie Radio Host Has Been Forced Off Social Media By Abusive Louis Tomlinson Fans
Tomlinson gave Ash London the middle finger on Twitter.
2Day Network presenter Ash London has been forced off Twitter after facing a torrent of abuse from former One Direction star Louis Tomlinson’s fans.
It all started when London interviewed Tomlinson earlier this week while presenting a Summer breakfast show with Ed Kavalee and guest Ash Williams, who both said they couldn’t tell which member of One Direction Tomlinson was.
Introducing the interview, the hosts engaged in a little banter:
“Just so we’re clear, because I’m a very visual guy, he’s the guy with the smaller face with the short brown hair?” Williams asked London in the lead up to the interview.
“Kind of like ratty facial hair…” London replied.
“He’s not Harry Styles basically,” said Kavalee. “He’s the least popular one.”
As soon as the interview was posted online Tomlinson’s fans began attacking the three hosts, but most of the vitriol was directed at London. Many of the fans attributed comments to London that were actually made by her male co-hosts, because, y’know, the internet.
setting yourself up for a terrible reputation- one in which you’re clearly unprofessional, you have incredibly poor judgment, and you see nothing wrong with putting guests down.
If you want to make even the faintest attempt at fixing this, you all need to issue a REAL apology+— manda;◟̽◞̽ MISS YOU (@alwayshazlwt) December 12, 2017
I hope you're not allowed on radio anymore, because what we need right now is someone who would spread love and positivity towards ALL musicians, we don't need to hear how you bring other people down in the public eye, hope you know what you all did was wrong and disrespectful

– ratty facial hair
– smaller face
– not Harry Styles
– quite skinny
– least popular of One Direction@ash_london you guys are disgusting and shouldn't count on our support anymore. I cannot believe that you said such vile things on radio, unprofessional.— Morgane ◟̽◞̽ (@versaillestyIes) December 11, 2017
The utter lack of respect displayed by your co-hosts toward Louis is inexcusable and shameful. Is that how you usually treat your guests? Not introducing their song by name and letting them be belittled and insulted?

.@ash_london @AshLondonLIVE If you want the goodwill of One Direction fans ever again, you must issue an apology NOW for the unprofessional and disrespectful treatment of @Louis_tomlinson on your show. And even then, our goodwill is not a lock.

As soon as the abuse began, London set her Twitter account to private before re-appearing briefly to post a message.

“I am a music fan. I love that it brings so much passion out in people,” she said. “This morning on air we had a great interview with Louis. As always — he was a total legend. I loved talking about how far he’s come, his new music and his future which looks so bright.
“We love Louis and will continue supporting him and his new music as we have always done.”
Tomlinson didn’t help, he tweeted in response to London, saying she “best stay on private for a bit longer, love”, accompanied by a middle finger emoji.
Probs best to stay on private for a bit longer love ! ?

That tweet has so far received more than 5000 replies and 16,000 retweets. Tomlinson has more than 31 million followers on Twitter.
In a second Tweet, London said she is “going off socials for a bit”.

“The abuse and threats are a little much for me right now,” she said. “I won’t go on private because I don’t have anything to hide. In future I’ll do what I always do — stick to music and leave any mentions of facial hair out of it.”
