#1 Bon Iver

Bon Iver oozes the nostalgic vibes suitable for any student who wants to settle in four an hour-long sesh – especially those students in a creative field. With a slow beat and the occasional rising tempo, Bon Iver maintains energy levels and keeps your restless soul at bay (in a good way).

Study song of choice: 33 “GOD”

#2 Alt-J

Alt-J also brings folk-inflected, layered pitches and sounds to the scene. Adding a depth to studying, the sound of Alt-J is ideal for students studying the three degrees I would never do – chemistry, math and physics.

#3 The Wombats

Now to get a little more up beat, The Wombats are an obvious addition to your study playlist. Make sure to listen to these guys when you’re faced with the research process for your essay because they’re sure to keep your energy levels strong.

I have yet to skip a song on their 2015 album, Glitterbug. It is just so damn good.

#4 Porter Robinson

It’s important to add a DJ into your study playlist. Electronic music won’t only motivate you to complete those assessments quicker, it’ll pump you up for the weekend too. Who better to do this then Porter Robinson, an electro-house/synth-pop DJ and musician from Chapel Hill, North Carolina. Take us to church, Porter.

#5 Emmit Fenn

A recent addition to my study playlist and a must-have for yours is Emmit Fenn. A Californian born singer, songwriter and producer, Fenn’s music has that smooth cinematic and offbeat sound that you’ll love while studying. You can even pretend you’re in a movie montage if you like.

Study song of choice: Painting Greys

#6 BROCKHAMPTON

Keep your energy levels up with a hit of BROCKHAMPTON. This is the artist to chuck on when you feel your eyelids drooping and your motivation waning. You’ll be grooving in your seat before long.

Study song of choice: SWEET 

#7 Glass Animals

Last on the list but an absolute favourite is the boys that make up the band, Glass Animals.

Including a mix of both upbeat and slow songs, Glass Animals will help you maintain focus while also taking you back to summer times with their album, ‘The Other Side of Paradise.’ Definitely end on these guys because by the end of it, you’ll be ready to head outside.
