Ariana Grande’s New Single ‘7 Rings’ Has Landed, Complete With A Glorious Video
This album is going to be huge.
‘7 Rings’, Ariana Grande’s third single from her impending fifth album, thank u, next, is here — she’s just dropped the track, and a music video featuring her childhood friends.
Unlike the fairy-tale trilling ‘thank u, next’ or ballad ‘imagine’, ‘7 Rings’ is indebted to trap. Suitably, the song sees Grande rap and sing about how she’s GOAT, and, in classic Grande form, how her friends have her back. The ‘7 Rings’ in the title refer to how Grande bought matching diamond rings for her and six of her best friends.
Those friends feature in the Hannah Lux Davis-directed music video, which takes place at a pink- and purple-lit all-female sorority party. Davis also directed the record-breaking video for ‘thank u, next’. Grande’s dog Tolouse also features: apparently he wasn’t supposed to, but, in Grande’s own words, ‘literally’ wouldn’t leave the shot. What are you gonna do?
