Anti-Trump Rallies Attract Millions Around The World And Inspire Some Truly Excellent Signs

Millions of people have rejected the politics of fear and division at anti-Trump rallies in cities across the globe.

Protesters of all ages, genders and ethnicities voiced their support for the rights of women, minorities, LGBTQI people, immigrants and the disabled at more than 600 events on seven continents.

According to city officials in Washington D.C., the flagship Women’s March in the US capital attracted around 500,000 people, dwarfing the crowd that turned out for Trump’s inauguration the previous day.

In Los Angeles the numbers were reportedly even greater, with event organisers claiming that as many as 750,000 people attended. A reported 400,000 people came out in New York City, while in Chicago a planned march became a stationary rally after crowds of up to 250,000 people made movement impossible.

Rallies outside of the US drew huge crowds as well. Approximately 100,000 people marched through London, along with 50,000 in Toronto. Events in Sydney and Melbourne drew an estimated 10,000 and 6,000 people, respectively.

With all said and done, organisers believe that more than 3 million people attended rallies around the world.

Many protestors wore knitted pink hats with cat ears, in reference to Trump’s infamous “grab them by the pussy” remarks. And the signs…my god, were there some excellent signs.
