Lockdown is tough on everyone — even, as it turns out, storied and Academy Award-winning actor Anthony Hopkins.

Aside from being Hannibal Lecter, you might best know Hopkins for that incredibly bizarre dance that he did on his Twitter account a few years ago. I suppose that there’s other context that I could give for the clip, but to be honest, nothing I could ever say could equal it, so just watch:

Well, if you’ve been missing that side of Hopkins, then don’t worry — lockdown is bringing it back out. Over the last few weeks, the actor has been posting “update videos” which show the slow transformation of a genteel Welshman into a person pushed to the very edge.

Should be noted that Anthony Hopkins is a very rich man who has spent the last few years living in a nice house and painting expressionistic portraits. He’s not suffering through lockdown in the way that others without such resources are suffering. But still, any excuse to share a video of the man who once played a stately butler in Remains of the Day barking like a dog.
