The Internet Is Mocking An Actor For Her Extremely Cringe Putin Poem
Have celebrities learnt nothing from that 'Imagine' video?
You may have heard that Vladimir Putin declared was on Ukraine yesterday, with some predicting of Europe’s biggest war since 1945. It was then that 90210 alumnus AnnaLynne McCord took it upon herself to tweet just over two minutes of earnest, spoken-word poetry about how she wishes she could’ve been Putin’s mother.
It seems that 2022’s ‘Imagine’ moment is here and, look, it’s not good.
Delivered with an alarming level of sincerity, AnnaLynne McCord begins the poem with: “Dear President Vladimir Putin — I’m so sorry that I was not your mother — If I was your mother you would have been so loved — held in the arms of joyous light — never in our story’s plight — a world unfurled in our eyes — a pure demise of nation sitting peaceful under the night sky.” A slap in the face to Vladimir’s late mother, Maria Shelomova, if there ever was one.
The poem continues in much the same vein, finishing with “I can’t believe I was born too late — in a different place — when I would’ve loved you so — watched you play wherever you go” before abruptly coming to end (unless I blacked out).

So far, McCord leads the charge in the weirdest reactions to the Russian offensive. However, TV host Andy Cohen also threw his hat in the ring, feeling moved enough to post a Wordle screenshot to his Instagram Stories. The screenshot simply containing the word: “P-E-A-C-E.”
Powerful stuff, folks. Powerful stuff.

I think now might actually be the time to sing ‘Imagine’.
