We’ve already seen Atari “Flashback” and Nintendo NES and SNES “mini” consoles rolled out over the last couple of years and to be a tad brutal, some of them sucked. Sony is jumping on board with the $149.99 PlayStation Classic, available December 3 — and despite my very specific wishlist detailing which 20 titles it should be releasing with in order to not suck, I have been largely ignored.

To recap, here’s my list of What Should Have Been included:

  1. Gran Turismo
  2. Tomb Raider
  3. Crash Bandicoot
  4. Metal Gear Solid
  5. Harry Potter And The Philosopher’s Stone
  6. Spyro the Dragon
  7. Rayman
  8. Oddworld: Abe’s Oddysee
  9. Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater
  10. Frogger
  11. Driver
  12. Resident Evil
  13. Dino Crisis
  14. Crash Team Racing
  15. Silent Hill

These demands are in addition to Final Fantasy VII, Tekken 3, RIIIIIIIIDGE RACEEEEEEEER, Wild Arms and Jumping Flash which were already confirmed.

Here’s what we’ll actually get:

  1. Metal Gear Solid (yes)
  2. Rayman (thank you)
  3. Oddworld: Abe’s Oddysee (but, of course)
  4. Resident Evil Director’s Cut (you’re welcome)
  5. Battle Arena Toshinden
  6. Cool Boarders 2
  7. Destruction Derby
  8. Grand Theft Auto
  9. Intelligent Qube
  10. Mr Driller
  11. Revelations: Persona
  12. Super Puzzle Fighter II Turbo
  13. Syphon Filter
  14. Tom Clancy’s Rainbow 6
  15. Twisted Metal

Okay fine, this list is actually pretty good — and there were quite a few I wanted to see on there that simply weren’t possible because of licensing deals. Stupid licensing deals.

I’m definitely taking credit for the four titles I Strongly Suggested that were included, though.

The miniature console includes a virtual memory card, a HDMI cable to connect to your TV, and two full size wired controllers.
