AFL Fans Are Putting Out Their Cheeseboards After Melbourne Blew Their Shot At The Finals
So close...
It cannot feel good to be a Melbourne supporter right now.
So much had to go wrong for the Demons to miss out on the AFL finals this year, it’s kind of insane they managed to pull it off.
First, they had to lose to Collingwood, despite the fact that Collingwood were already out of contention. Then the West Coast Eagles had to take down Adelaide by four goals or more, despite the fact that Adelaide sit on top of the ladder and are widely considered one of the favourites to take home the flag.
Nobody thought it could happen. Everyone thought the Dees were home. But if I know anything about footy, it’s that nothing goes quite the way it’s supposed to.

Oooft.
It’s especially painful given that the last time the Dees made the finals, John Howard was still Prime Minister and Justin Timberlake’s ‘SexyBack’ was on top of the ARIA charts.
In a show of commiseration, AFL fans around the country have been putting out their cheeseboards – a tongue-in-cheek reference to the baffling sight at the MCG a few week back of a Demons fan with a full blown charcuterie platter.
