50 Cent Has Been Slammed For Mocking Terry Crews’ Alleged Sexual Assault
"50 cent should focus on becoming a full dollar."
Rapper 50 Cent has faced a wave of criticism for an Instagram post seemingly mocking actor Terry Crews’ alleged sexual assault.
Last October, spurred on by the #MeToo movement, Crews publicly accused Hollywood talent agent Adam Venit of groping him at a party. The Brooklyn Nine-Nine star has since become a vocal advocate for survivors of sexual assault, and on Tuesday appeared before a Senate Judiciary Committee where he condemned toxic masculinity in a powerful piece of testimony.
“Toxic masculinity permeates culture,” said Crews. “I chose to tell my story and share my experience to stand in solidarity with millions of other survivors around the world. That I know how hard it is to come forward, I know the shame associated with the assault. It happened to me.”
Shortly after Crews appeared before the committee, 50 Cent posted a shirtless photo of the actor on his Instagram featuring the text “I got raped. My wife just watched.” It was accompanied by a second photo of Crews with a rose in his mouth and the text “Gym time.”
Beneath the images the rapper wrote “LOL, What the fuck is going on out here man? Terry: l froze in fear, they would have had to take me to jail. Get the strap.”
50 Cent has since deleted the post, but screenshots were shared on social media.
Seeing 50 cent’s comments mocking Terry Crew’s freezing when sexual assaulted is disturbing. It contributes to silencing survivors, specifically men when they speak out about sexualized violence and to the lack of knowledge about people’s trauma reactions. #MeToo pic.twitter.com/MLQUU6eZh7

The rapper has been roundly criticised for his remarks, with many on social media pointing to them as a prime example of the kind of toxic masculinity Crews is fighting against.
Toxic masculinity is what is doing @50cent instead of showing support to @terrycrews he is mocking him.
Childish.

So Terry Crews had the guts to speak out about assault and 50 cent thinks it’s funny. This is why men bottle up their hurt

50 cent mocking terry crews over sexual harassment is exactly why suicide rates is higher for men
toxic masculinity hurts men as well as women in many ways
– it suppresses men’s feelings
– it encourages men’s violence
– it discourages seeking help
– it spreads homophobia/misogyny— ??⁹⁰ (@DigitalAbdullah) June 27, 2018
Terry Crews has done more to advocate for men victims than any MRA ever will. And certainly more than losers like 50 Cent would even think to do

Terry Crews is 10x the man 50 cent could ever dream to be…

When asked about 50 Cent’s comments by TMZ, Crews took the high ground.
“I love 50 Cent. I listen to his music while I’m working out,” said the actor, before adding that “size doesn’t matter when it comes to sexual assault.”
