5 Humble Brags We’re So Sick Of Seeing On Social Media

You can’t escape the #humblebrag. It’s hard to log in into Facebook or Instagram and not see at least one post of someone who just feels so #blessed, or someone who is complaining about a problem that isn’t actually a problem. Ugh. We all know that one person who’s a repeat offender. And these are the posts you’re sure to see.

The ‘Oh No I Can’t Go To Your Event Because I’ll Be In [Insert Amazing Tropical Location Here]’

You see it on Facey invites all the time. Your mate will be chucking a pretty casual BBQ with mates and there’s always that one person who has to comment why they can’t attend.

“Oh damn this succccks. I can’t come, I’ll be in Bora Bora when your BBQ is on :(”

Ummmmmm I’m sorry. If I was going to Bora Bora next week, I would not be feeling sad about missing out on my friend’s shitty BBQ (sorry friends). Don’t pretend like you’re sad. There’s always that one person who practically posts their whole travel itinerary when a simple ‘Not attending’ would have sufficed.

Any And All Travel Pics On Insta

We’re so ready to unfollow anyone who is posting photos of their amazing travels around the world while we’re stuck spending our weekends working a bloody retail job. The #humblebrag comes in all shapes and forms, usually accompanied by a quote like ‘From where you’d rather be’. Not going to lie, I’ve definitely been that person and I think we all have. But we still can’t help but be jealous when it’s not us on that holiday.

The ‘I Woke Up Like This’ Selfie

Most commonly found on Snapchat, the ‘I woke up like this’ selfie has been making us feel bad about ourselves since the dawn of social media. It involves an absolutely flawless photo without makeup, followed with a caption with undertones of ‘Yes I always look this good naturally’. Of course, we shouldn’t feel so resentful about this. If you have the confidence to post a no makeup selfie, good on you! We just wish you weren’t so braggy about it. Don’t even get us started on ‘Bae caught me sleeping‘…

Complaints About ‘Just’ Missing Out On An HD

There’s always that one person. Here you are, just trying to get by and scrape a pass and they’re actually complaining about getting a distinction. “Damn! I was only one mark off… soooo unlucky.” OMFG shut up now pls.

‘It’s Hard Having So Many Followers’

It usually comes in the form of a Facebook status, seemingly innocent at first. “How do you turn off notifications? Way too many people keep following me on Insta/Facey/Twitter and the notifications are soooo annoying.” OK we get it, you have over 10,000 followers and that’s cool. I’ll just be here with 100 followers pretending I don’t care about becoming internet famous…
