2 Chainz Wants To Teach You How To Cook Healthy, Nutritious Meals
Thanks 2 Chainz.
Usually when your average rapper talks about “cookin'”, it’s either in the Miles Davis sense (“Woo, that cat is cookin’!”), meaning they’re heating up the place with their jazzerific performance skills, or alternatively in the street sense, meaning they’re frying up another batch of illegal drugs for their hustling game.
2 Chainz, on the other hand, isn’t your average rapper. When he talks about cookin’, he really means cookin’. The guy, who recently released the great new single ‘Feds Watchin” with regular man-about-town Pharrell, revealed in a new interview that his upcoming (and insanely-titled) album, B.O.A.T.S II: Me Time (Based On A TRU Story 2), will be bundled with an actual cookbook with actual recipes.
“I’m cool enough to be comfortable in my own skin and try to educate people, so with this cookbook I’m gonna have probably about 14 to 15 meals, [based on how] many songs [the album has], that’s gonna tell you what was used to make these as far as ingredients, and cooking time and all of that stuff, and probably the pros and the cons of eating it,” 2 Chainz told New York’s Power 105 radio show, unnecessarily explaining the well-known concept of ‘cookbooks’.
He went into further detail in the interview regarding his thinking behind the release, adding that he battles acid reflux and ulcers (aargh, the worst! I hate you, tomatoes) and sees the project as a health-conscious move for his fans. “I’m a seafood lover, I don’t eat beef or pork, period… so turkey, chicken, that’s a lot of the recipes I use and eat everyday.”
The album (and cookbook) are out in a few weeks; in the meantime, you can check his Instagram for some other surprisingly delicious-looking weeknight meal suggestions, like the following:
That last one must’ve been so tasty. I don’t know why you’d leave three blueberries behind, though, they’re so expensive.
