Harmony Korine’s much hyped new movie, Spring Breakers, premiered in American theatres over the weekend, and it’s immediately sparked an incredible response amongst both media-types and audience members (oh, and James Franco’s grandma).
Everywhere you turn, people are blabbing on about the debaucherous Disney stars and their colourful bikini wardrobes, James Franco’s masterful Riff Raff-referencing monologue, the film’s racial subtext, it’s Skrillex-dominated soundtrack, the behind-the-scenes romances and fun on-set anecdotes about the time Gucci Mane fell asleep mid-take while a stripper was grinding against his privates.
Unfortunately, we’ll still have to wait until May 9 for the film to get a local theatrical release, but in the meantime, why not keep track of the buzz, the talking points, and all the heated online discussion surrounding the unlikely hit with these incredibly enlightening IMDB message board comments.
