Will Smith has confirmed via an extremely enthusiastic Instagram video posted overnight, that Bad Boys 3 is one hundo percent happening.

Whilst rumours have been floating about lately about a third entry into the wildly successful action flick series that kicked off in 1995, it’s the first time Smith has officially confirmed the movie is definitely real and that he’ll once again be alongside original co-star Martin Lawrence.

Here’s the both of them yelling repeatedly at you:

If you ask me it totally makes sense for a contemporary new entry into the Bad Boys cinematic universe. Not only because nostalgia mining and franchise rebooting is the only form of entertainment we’re allowed these days but it also makes sense given the current climate regarding boys in general.

Who are the real Bad Boys? All of them. Just think of the potential storylines for a Bad Boys movie set in a post #MeToo world.

Can we expect a nuanced and deftly-paced exploration into toxic masculinity as Miami detectives Marcus Burnett and Mike Lowrey turn their gaze inwards and attempt to identify why exactly boys are bad?

It’s got Kangaroo Jack’s Jerry Bruckheimer back on board to produce so no, we can not. They’ll probs just take down some drug crime, smooch some super hot ladies in minimal clothing and at least one of them will drop a line that’s pretty much “I’m getting too old for this shit!” (both Smith and Lawrence are in their 50s).

And I’ll probably love the hell out of it god damn it.

The third Bad Boys has copped the obvious title of Bad Boys For Life and is scheduled to open on January 2020. Giddy up.
