Marvel’s first Disney+ series, WandaVision, has a new teaser showcasing intriguing new footage and the first of its many sitcom-style theme songs.

WandaVision stars Elizabeth Olsen as Wanda Maximoff (AKA Scarlet Witch) and Paul Bettany as Vision. The star-crossed pair were torn tragically apart at the end of Avengers: Infinity War and so their series has been eagerly awaited by many — myself very much included. The series trailers see them in various scenes of domestic sitcom-esque bliss that glitch from one decade to the next, but it’s clear nothing is as it seems.

The most recent teaser features a snippet of what is undoubtedly just one of Wanda and Vision’s many sitcom theme tunes to come. This song was composed by Frozen duo Kristen Anderson-Lopez and Robert Lopez, while Christoph Beck, who also composed the Frozen score has written the score for WandaVision.

WandaVision is shaping up to be unlike any Marvel project that has come before it. Between the all-in sitcom vibes and The Truman Show-esque glitches, WandaVision feels unapologetically odd in a way that Marvel’s cinematic universe doesn’t normally give itself the space to be outside of Guardians of the Galaxy.

“I grew up in the ’80s watching shows from every decade on the networks all day long. Episodes from I Love Lucy, Brady Bunch and Family Ties shaped who I am and how I move through the world. So this project was a dream come true,” said music composer Anderson-Lopez.

There are a lot of questions fans will want to be answered in the series: How was Vision resurrected after Wanda killed him? How did they come to be trapped in this sitcom simulation prison? Why is Monica Rambeau, the grown-up daughter of Maria from Captain Marvel, also trapped there?

WandaVision will feature nine episodes and premiere on Disney+ on the January 15. I’m counting down the minutes.
