Grab Tix To Our Big Talks With The BoJack Horseman Creator And OITNB’s Yael Stone!
These legends are sitting down with Marc Fennell to talk about your favourite shows.
Netflix is the world’s leading internet television network, offering original series, documentaries and feature films. Watch anytime, anywhere, on any screen.
In case you missed it, we’re bringing some legends from your favourite Netflix shows down under for Video Junkee 2017. Our inaugural festival of all things film, TV and online video is kicking off with two huge talks from the creator of BoJack Horseman Raphael Bob-Waksberg and Yael Stone from Orange Is The New Black and this is your best shot at scoring tickets.
Both Bob-Waksberg and Stone will be sitting down with former triple j movie guy Marc Fennell to chat about their respective hit shows.
BoJack, of course, is now entering its fourth season. The animated Hollywood satire has been praised (by us!) as “a surprisingly honest and insightful look at depression” as well as an innovative and hilarious skewering of the golden age of TV. Fennell will be quizzing Bob-Waksberg on everything about his hit show… and possibly also that haunting Twitter poem he wrote about Marge Simpson.
Yael Stone’s chat with Marc Fennell will be about all things Orange Is The New Black, but she’s also delivering a keynote speech about the history and commodification of storytelling. “A festival that explores storytelling and content is really up my alley,” Stone told Junkee. “I just think it’s great to be able to have these conversations, and to be clarifying some of the ideas and understanding where we are in our society.”
“We should be talking about things that make us comfortable and uncomfortable in this arena… and what’s possible for the future. What are the daring visions that we’re able to project into the future of storytelling and cultural discussions?”
Video Junkee is stacked with talks, screenings, and panels from a diverse array of Australian creatives to interrogate a bunch of questions like this. Check out the whole program now.
