Well, it’s #Goodnightly for Tonightly — the final episode of the ABC’s short-lived, controversial and much-loved comedy show aired last night, making this the last time we’ll be bringing you one of their cracking vids.

The final episode had a bit of something for everyone: host Tom Ballard getting carried onto the set by a team of shirtless hotties, Ballard subsequently getting owned as his set is dismantled around him (“we need the wood to make coffins for ABC viewers”), some sketches mocking politicians and the ABC management, and an ode to Tonightly’s most beloved and baffling character, Mr. Oily.

And then there’s the moment you’ve all been waiting for: the musical finale.

“It hasn’t all been good, we’ve had a tricky run,” Ballard acknowledged in his final speech. “We’ve gotten into trouble over the years — or over the months, I should say. Over the months — almost twelve.”

“But whether you like us or not, I think we can all agree that it’s a wonderful thing that we live in a country where we can have a show like this, and people are free to criticise their government”. The show then goes on to do that, one last time, through song.
