Hear ‘Garbage Bin’, The New Single From Tiny Little Houses
"This song will always be dear to me because it conjures the last moment I saw Fergus."
Melbourne outfit Tiny Little Houses will hit the road next month in support of their just-released single, ‘Garbage Bin.’
The song is a particularly special one for the band, as it was initially recorded with the late Melbourne musician Fergus Miller (of Bored Nothing and Wedding Ring Bells), who died in October last year. Karvountzis was close friends with Miller, and worked with him on ‘Garbarge Bin’ just weeks before his death.
In memory of his friend, Caleb explained how the song came to be, and what it now means to him:

“I went over to my friend Fergus Miller’s place and showed [‘Garbage Bin’] to him. We arranged and recorded the track essentially how it sounds today, right there and then in his make-shift lounge studio.”
“Tragically, Ferg passed away a few short weeks later so it remained unfinished. I was fortunate enough to get my hands on the original files and finish the track off in studio with Steven Schram while working on our album earlier this year. The band made sure to keep the essence of the original, leaving in all of Fergs parts on this released version, while adding only minimal necessary touches and changing a few lyrics to reflect the sad circumstances.”
“This song will always be dear to me because it conjures the last moment I saw Fergus. A cold afternoon in his lounge, wires and pedals covering the floor, watching him happily bash away on the drums.”
Tiny Little Houses will play two launch shows in Sydney and Melbourne in support of ‘Garbage Bin’; check out all the details below.
