You ever sit on Tinder for so long that you get swipe fatigue? And your thumb just auto-pilots to “left”?

That’s what happened to an American college student who made a huge mistake by swiping left to a girl he really wanted to date. But instead of waiting for the internet gods to do their work, he took matters into his own hands.

Sleepless In Missouri

Hayden Moll is a Missouri State University student who was idly swiping through Tinder when he saw a girl, Claudia, come up on his screen. Instead of swiping right like he wanted to, he accidentally swiped left and lost her in the Tinder universe forever. Sad reacts only.

But, no. This isn’t the end of the story. In the most extra way possible, he emailed every single Claudia at Missouri State University to see if it was them. Every. Single. One.

Thankfully, it reached the real Claudia who tweeted it incredulously, “THIS GUY LITERALLY EMAILED EVERY CLAUDIA AT MISSOURI STATE TO FIND ME ON TINDER” she wrote.

In the screenshot of the email, you can see Hayden’s extremely cute (if somewhat desperate) plea to find her. He starts out by writing, “Hello all Claudia’s [sic] of Missouri State,” and continues on to say, “I accidentally swiped left on a Claudia’s profile (left is bad) and I really wanted to swipe right. If Tinder provided last names this would be so much easier but it doesn’t, so I have to describe the profile to you.”

He went on to explain that the Claudia of his dreams had a profile saying she was 20 even though she was actually 18, she just didn’t know how to change it. She had photos with friends and her mum, explaining that all her friends are single if people prefer them instead but her mum is off limits. (Good bio, imo.)

He promised that if the real Claudia replied to the email saying “right” then we would take them out for doughnut.

Meet cutes and doughnuts? This is too much.

Happy Endings

After the twitter post went viral (over 30,000 retweets) and was covered by a whole bunch of media outlets, Claudia and Hayden set the doughnut date with each other.

No word on how it went, but we’re crossing our fingers they’ll live happily ever after. What a modern love story!
