1. Dyke and Fats

Kate McKinnon and Aidy Bryant, arguably the two funniest talents on Saturday Night Live right now, were responsible for the best realised skit of the season; perhaps the only one guaranteed to enter the all-time pantheon: Dyke and Fats.

In and out in less than 90 seconds, this beautifully photographed opening credit sequence to a cop show we sorely wish existed sees McKinnon and Bryant embrace their stereotypes with relish. The sting comes at the end, when they chastise the Captain (Louis C.K., if you were looking for more reasons to love this sketch) for using their co-opted slurs without permission. Les Dykawitz and Chubbina Fatzarelli, 2014 was yours.
