The Rock’s New TV Show Makes ‘Ninja Warrior’ Look Like A 5-Year-Old’s Birthday Party
'The Titan Games' is like if Gladiator, wrestling and Ninja Warrior had a swole ass baby.
The only thing people love more than watching scantily clad beefcakes hurl their jacked bodies across obstacle courses is, of course, watching anything with Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson in it. For too long these two concepts have existed entirely independently of each other. That is until now…
The Titan Games is an upcoming reality TV show that promises healthy doses of both, with the OG brick shithouse The Rock hosting the physical-challenge based show that honest to god makes Ninja Warrior look like a Year 7 PE class.
Pff, pathetic.
Based on pretty much the same concept as all the Ninja Warrior-esque shows around at the moment (a bunch of rudely muscular attention seekers jump, swing, climb and run their way through a timed course), The Titan Games takes the idea up a notch or ten, with contestants charged with some truly herculean tasks.
Whilst some of the obstacles are truly batshit crazy on their own, the more mind-boggling fact is that all of the challenges are based off actual IRL training exercises Johnson legitimately uses or has used in his quest to ultimately eclipse the sun’s girth.
Smashing huge fucking boulders with a sledgehammer? The Rock considers that a gentle warm up. Extracting tree-sized wooden logs from a ramp with your bare hands? The Rock does that 12 times a day.
Just working out NBD.
Behold the vein-popping mayhem in the new trailer below:
The Titan Games airs in the States next January on NBC. No local airdate has been announced.
