The Lonely Island Has Just Dropped A Bizarre And Hilarious “Visual Album” On Netflix
It's called 'The Unauthorized Bash Brothers Experience' and it's as funny as you'd expect.
The Lonely Island have just released a weird homage to their baseball icons, in what they’re calling “a long-form visual poem”.
It’s very funny and deeply weird, like everything that The Lonely Island blesses.
It seems to be channeling a lot of the same energy as their legendary SNL Digital Shorts, and also a bit of the perfect movie Hot Rod.
Here’s the conceit:
In honour of the 30th anniversary of the Oakland Athletics’ 1989 championship season, The Lonely Island has allowed a greater power to speak through them and create a visual poem/ love letter to their childhood heroes: Jose Canseco and Mark McGwire AKA The Bash Brothers.
It’s called The Unauthorized Bash Brothers Experience.
The 27 minute musical poem experience stars Andy Samberg and Akiva Schaffer, with special appearances from Haim, Maya Rudolph, Hannah Simone, Jenny Slate, Jim O’Heir and Sterling K Brown as Sia. Are you starting to get an idea of how odd this is?
Don’t take my word for it, watch one of the clips they’ve released.
Cool, that’s Andy Samberg’s cum face, something I’ve always wanted to see — although, under different circumstances tbh.
Or there’s this one!
It has an ALF joke, which automatically makes it perfect.
Look, if you love to LAUGH and you’re a silly bitch like me, you’re gonna love this dumb half hour of songs. It’s good!
The Unauthorized Bash Brothers Experience is currently on Netflix!
