‘The Feed’ Is Back With Another Private School Election Video, And Once Again It Rules

Petra and Melissa are back, and they're messier than ever.

Last week, SBS’ The Feed delightfully skewered the Liberal Party’s leadership spill nonsense in a video reimagining the whole thing as a private school election. Now, they’ve released a sequel covering the fallout of the spill and Scott Morrison’s surprise appointment as Prime Minister, and once again they’ve absolutely nailed it.

Quick recap, in case you missed the first video: it featured Freudian Nip comedians Jenna Owen and Victoria Zerbst as high school frenemies Melissa and Petra, standing in for Turnbull and Dutton. The sketch featured Melissa ripping into Petra for having a “full on freak out” and trying to challenge Melissa as captain, only to lose and make things totally awkward.

Now, of course, there’s been a plot twist, or as Melissa puts it, “some Pirates of the Caribbean shit — like a full blown mutiny”. Someone called “Sophia Morrow” (“that rando, Christian, virgin chick”) has come out of nowhere to grab the school captaincy, and Petra and Melissa are both totally depresso about it.

“You know what, I was the first woke school captain in what is essentially a really uptight school, no offence,” Melissa tells the student body. “I was like ‘yep, let’s make change. Let’s put solar panels on the roof because I’m worried about the North Pole or whatever'”.

“But then I was like wait, hold up, what do the Christians want? What do the lezzos want? What do the effing prefects want?”

Petra then jumps in to point out that yeah, but “now everyone hates you”, and pretty soon insults are flying, people are leaking messages from the prefects’ group chat (“Babes for Stability”), and the whole drama is playing out in front of the entire school. You know, just like how the government’s huge petty leadership drama awkwardly unfolded in front of the entire country. Exactly like that.
