‘The Feed’ Held A Funeral For A Melted Arctic Glacier
"The saddest thing is that we'll never know why or how this glacier melted."
Later this month, researchers at Rice University in Houston, Texas will unveil a plaque commemorating the death of Iceland’s Okjökull glacier, which was recently declassified by glaciologists due to melting caused by global warming. Yep, that’s where we’re at now.
Not to be outdone, the team at The Feed decided to hold a full-blown funeral for the glacier, with well-wishers falling over themselves to eulogise it.
“What can you say?” asks the CEO of a coal company. “The world works in mysterious ways. I mean, we’ve been drilling there for years and we have no idea what caused this to melt.”
“The saddest thing is that we’ll never know why or how this glacier melted,” agrees the environment minister. “Or even if it melted. I mean, where’s the proof?”
“Lets not go crazy about what all this means,” he adds. “We’re looking into it.”
