Charlie Costello (Woody Harrelson) in Seven Psychopaths (2012)

Struggling writer Marty (Colin Farrell), seeking inspiration for his screenplay Seven Psychopaths, gets entangled in the idiotic dog-ransoming antics of his friend Billy (Sam Rockwell) and Billy’s friend Hans (Christopher Walken). But these two idiots pick the wrong dog to kidnap – Bonny, a shih tzu beloved of gangster Costello. Martin McDonagh’s very funny crime caper is firmly in the vein of Elmore Leonard and Guy Ritchie, as Harrelson milks his trademark stolid goofiness as the hard man who loves his tiny fluffball. “He doesn’t have a gay head! He has a normal head!”
