Good morning and happy Monday. As you settle in for another week at work, let your spirits be buoyed by this delightful little youngster flipping the bird in the background of a Sunrise shot this morning.

There’s not actually a lot to say about this. The always unflappable Edwina Bartholemew was doing a live cross from Windsor in the UK, speculating on the impending birth of yet another royal baby, when this young rascal rolled by.

There’s just something about his face that really sets it off. The cheeky grin, the perfect timing as the slowly car rolls by and he pops his elbow out the window, swiftly extending his middle finger.

Perhaps he’s a symbol of something bigger — our growing unease at breakfast television’s corrosive effects on the national discourse — or perhaps he’s just a naughty little boy.
