A four-year lawsuit involving Skrillex and a fan has come to an end, with a Los Angeles jury determining that the DJ now owes a fan US $1.6 million.

In 2014, Jennifer Fraissl sued Skrillex, alleging that she was significantly injured after he stage dived onto her during a 2012 concert in Los Angeles. Days later, she suffered a stroke, and believes the two were linked.

After a two day deliberation, a Los Angeles jury has ruled in Fraissl’s favour, awarding her US $4.5 million ($6,208,820). As reported by MixmagSkrillex and his touring company Lost Boys Touring will pay US $3.4 million ($4,691,110) of that, with the DJ himself being personally responsible for US $1.6 million ($2,207,580).

As the jury found that Fraissl was partially responsible for the injury, so 15 percent of the $4.5 million has been nulled, leaving the remaining US $450,000 ($620,882) to be paid by the venue, Belasco Theatre.

Skrillex has given a statement to TMZ, saying he was glad to have the case behind him, though didn’t rule out making an appeal at a later date.

“There is nothing more important to me than my fans and their safety at my shows,” Skrillex wrote. “I want them to have fun and enjoy the music. While I’m disappointed by the jury’s decision, I’m glad this process is over. I look forward to getting back to work and delivering new music to my fans.”
