Someone Has Tried And Failed To Egg Scott Morrison
The egg simply bounced off.
People like Egg Boy make it look easy, but the art of egging politicians requires a subtle touch. That was illustrated powerfully today after someone tried and failed to egg Prime Minister Scott Morrison, instead knocking over an old lady in one of the most disastrous failed eggings we’ve ever seen.
The would-be egger approached Morrison as he left a Country Women’s Association event this morning, coming up behind him and throwing an egg at the back of his head.
Unfortunately, as the video below shows, the egg simply bounced off ScoMo’s head (which raises unsettling questions — is Scott Morrison’s head simply softer than an egg?). Meanwhile, the egg-thrower collided with Morrison’s security, apparently knocking an elderly woman to the ground in the process.
.@tomwconnell: It looks like the egg basically bounces straight off @ScottMorrisonMP. This has just happened at the Country Women's Association.

The egg-thrower has apologised for knocking the woman to the ground, saying that was not their intention. Meanwhile, Scott Morrison helped the elderly woman to her feet and then took straight to Twitter to blow the situation out of proportion, writing “my concern about today’s incident in Albury was for the older lady who was knocked off her feet. I helped her up and gave her a hug. Our farmers have to put up with these same idiots who are invading their farms and their homes.”
“We will stand up to thuggery whether it’s these cowardly activists who have no respect for anyone, or militant unionists standing over small businesses and their employees on work sites.”

Indeed, it seems that only the egg itself survived the incident unscathed.

Update: NSW Police say that a 25-year-old woman is in custody, and that no injuries have been reported in relation to the great would-be egging of 2019.
