Sam Simmons Just Took Out The World’s Most Prestigious Live Comedy Award At The Edinburgh Fringe, No Big Deal
YAY.
The Edinburgh Fringe is wrapping up for another year, along with your burning envy that you aren’t there, and for the last week talk has been around who’ll win the prestigious Foster’s Edinburgh Comedy Awards, widely acknowledged as live comedy’s most prestigious gong.
Following a warmly received run and an extra show this year, Melbourne hero, sporadic Triple J presenter and moustached man Sam Simmons took out the award for his show Spaghetti For Breakfast. As proof, here is a lovably daggy photo of him holding the award while being surrounded by Foster’s branding.

Simmons toured Spaghetti For Breakfast around Australia earlier this year before taking it on the road. He’s been nominated for the gong twice before, including for his older show Death of a Sails-Man in 2014, but this is the first time he’s taken out the prize. He seems pretty chuffed about it.
THANKYOU Everyone!!! what an amazing day. My voice is ripped to shreds and I’m not going out tonight so I can have great last show…
