Tom Gleeson has mercilessly roasted Rove McManus over his brief stint as a breakfast radio personality on the latest edition of Hard Chat.

Rove lost his radio show at 2Day FM last year on account of the fact that nobody seemed to be tuning in — a fact that Gleeson was all too happy to remind him about.

“If a tree falls in the forest and no one hears it, would it have more listeners than your radio show?” asked the comedian.

“That was an interesting experience,” said Rove. “It was great to get up every morning–”

“And be ignored?” Gleeson interrupted.

“You’ve ruled out a return to breakfast radio. Hasn’t the radio industry done that for you?” he added.

Gleeson also had a dig at Rove’s time at the helm of his own game show.

“Was it hard to host Are You Smarter Than A 5th Grader? when you’re not?” he asked.

“The good news is I never had to answer any of the questions,” Rove replied. “But the problem was most of the kids on that show would beat me up for my lunch money.”
