‘Game Of Thrones’ And ‘Narcos’ Star Pedro Pascal Set To Join The Star Wars Universe
'The Mandalorian' is the first of the upcoming Star Wars TV shows coming to new platform Disney+.
The sexiest man to ever get his head exploded by a hand on television is set to move into yet another big popular franchise, with news today that Pedro Pascal is set to take the lead role in upcoming Star Wars TV show The Mandalorian.
Known to many as the irascible and deeply sexual Oberyn Martell in Game of Thrones (RIP bb), Pascal will be diving straight on into another franchise with insanely diehard fans, as “a lone gunfighter in the outer reaches of the galaxy far from the authority of the New Republic” in the series set to premiere sometime next year.
Variety first reported that Pascal was in talks for the titular role, but there’s still scant info on what the whole thing is actually about. All we know is it’s set sometime after Return of the Jedi, before The Force Awakens and will feature wars in, on or near stars. Also, there’s a Mandalorian???? What is a Mandalorian? Is it a fruit? Nobody knows!
Ok, I kid, a Mandalorian is someone from the planet Mandalore, obviously, a human-occupied outer-rim territory known for producing some of the biggest and baddest bounty hunters in all of space. Neat.
With Iron Man director Jon Favreau locked in as show-runner, and already announced directors including daddy Taika Waititi and Jurassic World star Bryce Dallas Howard, the new show is absolutely stacked with big-name talent as Disney hopes to kick off its new steaming platform Disney+ in style.
A second Star Wars show featuring Rogue One rebel Cassian Andor has also recently been announced, meaning 2019 is shaping up to be a big year for nerds! Pew pew!
