In news to make you feel slightly old and irrelevant, *NSYNC’s magnum opus – and the definitive pop anthem of the ’00s – ‘Bye Bye Bye’ has just turned fifteen.

Love it or hate it, ‘Bye Bye Bye’ was in a league of its own, staying at the top of the charts for five weeks in 2000, and making everyone dance like this:

Whether that’s a good or bad thing remains open to interpretation; having been voted in the top 20 Most Annoying Songs by Rolling Stone in 2007, it’s tending towards the latter — though it was also Turk’s ringtone on Scrubs, so really it could go either way.

Arguably *NSYNC’s best song, ‘Bye Bye Bye’ is so notoriously well-known that people are still covering it fifteen years later. Among the frankly terrible versions (we’re looking at you Chipmunks; we’re looking directly at you), there were some gems. In honour of this seminal classic making it to its angsty mid-teens, here are four of them:

#4: Brett Ball

“In my whole life I’ve only ever wanted one thing: to be in a boy band.”

Brett Ball gets it, shamelessly putting his body on the line in order to teach us the moves we so crave to know. Also, ‘Part I – Shoulders Are Sexy’ is just invaluable advice.

#3: Glee

Glee showcases the pop war between *NSYNC and the Backstreet Boys in this slightly cringeworthy clip. Guilty pleasure? Maybe, but hey, you’re reading an article about *NSYNC.

#2: Disciples Of The Dad Jeans

This one — featuring the infamous choreography — is enjoyable in the way that only a bunch of earnest white guys with a serious case of shirt-tucked-into-dad-jeans can be.

#1: *NSYNC Goes Metal

We were genuinely surprised by how popular the song is with metal fans — in fact, we could have made a whole list using only them.

Actually, we should have made that list. We’re sorry we didn’t make that list.

Last, but certainly not least, the original and best:
