Nicolas Cage Rocked Up To A Nicolas Cage Movie Marathon And Read Some Edgar Allan Poe
You just got CAGED.
For the past four years, a cinema in Texas has hosted a Nicolas Cage movie marathon, and for the past four years they’ve invited the actor to attend. Until now, the Oscar winner has given the event – dubbed CAGED – a wide berth. But not this year.
This year, not only was Cage in attendance, but he helped the organisers at the Alamo Drafthouse pick which films to play. The bill consisted of Bangkok Dangerous, Joe, Bringing Out the Dead, Army of One and Lord of War. Can’t say they would have been my first choices – the lack of Face/Off in particular is an absolute travesty. I also have a bit of a soft spot for Ghost Rider: Spirit of Vengeance, but I might be alone on that one.
Cage reportedly sat in on the marathon with his fans, before getting up on stage for a Q&A. He also delivered a dramatic reading of Edgar Allan Poe’s The Tell-Tale Heart and he did not hold back, no sir he did not.
